My new kitchen set up!

Sorry I haven't updated like I was hoping to! We have a lot going on the first half of this month but after that I promise lots of updates and pictures!

Now to today's post:
If you know anything about you, you know I have A LOT of kitchen stuff! In my kitchen for a long time I had a set up for 4 different small bookcase/basket type things to hold it all together.
Here is what it looked like right before I had it inspected this spring:
since this picture was taken we have added on to our "pantry" on the right and it now goes almost to the ceiling

I wish I could say that this is how everything stayed after the inspection but with my supplies always increasing things quickly started to pile up on top of the shelves.

It was mostly organized, but the problem is the kitchen is not the only place I had kitchen stuff stored. In the upstairs bonus/craft/ everything else room, I also took over an entire closet for baking supplies and pans. I decided that it was time to get all (well almost all) my kitchen things in the kitchen.
So, once I decided I wanted to change things I decided I need to save up for one big piece that would fit most everything. I found this awesome bookcase at Ikea. I decided as this will be used for all my baking stuff that it should be bought with cake money. It took me a couple months to save up for it but I finally did!
A couple weeks ago we decided to head to Charlotte, see Tyler (Justin's brother), and head to IKEA. I was planning on getting the red bookcase. But, once we got there it turns out the bookcase was more of an orange-red than a state red. All my kitchen things are red so I decided to go with the black one instead.

This is a picture of it in progress. I was able to not only clear out 3 out of the 4 smaller storage things, but also empty out the upstairs closet. It's currently completely filled up but I am SOOOOOOOOO happy with it! It worked much better than I could have expected. It even hold my cricut cake machine and the bottom shelf now holds our rice maker, electric griddle and sandwich maker.

While at Ikea we also picked up several other furniture things for the upstairs room. I will blog about that soon with lots of pictures.

Thanks for reading!
