We've been in the U.S. for 14 years now, had our greencards for 5 and two weeks ago mom finally became an U.S. Citizen! The ceremony was in the Immigration center near our house in Raleigh. The ceremony it self only lasted about an hour but it was the final step of her really long journey to get to this point. I still haven't decided when I will go through this final step myself but it will probably be in the next year or so.
To celebrate we had a party of course and I made cupcakes.
