Things no one told me about pregnancy

I am now just past the 30 week mark! Which means baby should be here in 10 weeks or so (hopefully not much earlier or later than that). Every week I wonder how much bigger my belly can stretch and grow and every week I get bigger and I am sure this will only continue till baby is here!
This is my first baby, but I have been around many pregnant people. I was 18 when my youngest brother was born, and several of the people I babysit for have had kids since I started working with them. Yet, there are plenty of things I didn't know and no one told me about being pregnant.
Sure, I knew "morning" sickness can last all day and be sever enough to send you to the hospital for fluids. I knew heartburn in the 3rd trimester can be awful and you can end up eating tums/mallox like it's candy. I knew about "strange" cravings, that my taste buds would change. That by the time baby got here I would have learned where every bathroom in every store I go to is. And that by the end my boobs would be killing me
Things I didn't know:
-Heart burn can start as early as the first trimester, I had the pleasure to start getting heartburn while still sick on a regular bases in the first 14 weeks.
-You are hungry all the time! It's amazing how I could literally, get sick then go get a snack on my way back to the living room.
- You can't take pepto bismo because it contains aspirin (why??)
- Your boobs start to grow and hurt like crazy really early on, like week 6 or something
- having to get up to pee in the middle of the night (often multiple times a night) doesn't start in the 3rd trimester, it starts really early on. At least for me during the second trimester I was able to sleep all night again and now most nights I only wake up once or twice
- Baby kicks hard enough, and often enough that it actually makes it hard to fall asleep at night and often wakes me up in the middle of the night
- you will spend tons of time at the doctor's office! At first the appointments are every 4 weeks, then starting at 30 weeks, it's every 2, and after 36 it's once a week (and even more often after that if you make it past 40 weeks)
- Doctors can scare the hell out of you and make you worry for no reason! They will offer you tons of testing/blood work, etc. At least they will respect your decision and not push you to get any of it done if you don't want to. There are actually not that many tests you have to get done.
-Everyone has an opinion on what you should/shouldn't do, especially about finding out the gender of your baby. I shouldn't have been surprised by this, but it's funny how many strangers will talk to you about all sorts of things you didn't really care to know about.
-Growing a little human is a ton of work! It's really amazing what your body is capable of doing!

I think that's a good list to start with, I may add more things to it as they think about it. Oh, that's another thing, your brain stops working and is all over the place!

I can't believe how far along I am! I cannot wait to meet this baby and find out if it's a little boy or girl! We are still very happy with the decision to wait to find out the gender even after 3 ultrasounds that could have told us.

Thanks for reading!

PS More belly pictures are coming, we are pet/housesitting this week so we haven't gotten a 30 week picture yet. I am also going to get some full body pictures as people are wondering what the rest of me looks like now lol
